Reflection of weaving

At the beginning of the brief of what we were supposed to do we were asked a question about what our favourite animal was and we were then inspired by those animals to create weaves on a board inspired by the animals footsteps or what sound they would make when they are eating.

we each brought in materials from home and found some too in the local park to create the weaves in different shapes and forms.
After that we were asked to use a light source from our phones and shining the light onto our weaves to create shadows and the one we did almost reminded us of a nature park.

We moved our weaves about in different angles to change the sizes of the shadow on the wall and enlarging it to have different outcomes.

In my opinion i think doing textiles craft was very useful to me because it allowed me to experiment different textiles techniques and how to input fabric in many ways and creating something unusual out of it. Normally we see weaving as something going over and under the fabric but by using the inspiration of animal sounds we moved it all over the weaving board.
