Reflection

In our lesson of drawing And conceptual practice we were asked to observe something around us which would holds sentimental value. For example the cracks in the walls.

This could symbolise how old the building is and it’s something no one has fixed in a very long time, we took this idea and used drawing and textiles merged together to recreate this but also merged text along with it.

We also used a bunch of text and asked a bunch of rhetorical questions for example, where did it all go wrong? Why am I popping up? Will I be okay again? And promise me it gets better? to make it look like the wall has feelings.

This could symbolise that not only humans have feelings but maybe something damaged around us has feelings too. The material we used was old textile fabrics which we found in the skip to showcase this idea as a wall hanging which we ripped up like the crackled paint on the wall.

our main inspiration was the idea of decay and mould which builds up around anything which has come in contact with water or maybe the air around us and we use this idea to develop using drawing and textile materials to recreate that.
