Reflection

Over the weekend we were asked to further develop one of our ideas which we did for either sculpture, drawing and conceptual practice, painting and also photography and time based media and the idea which i had decided to go with was my painting project which was more based about the nature and the world around us and for my painting i have mixed it with a various different materials such as draw pins and also elastic bands to represent the location marks.

I was very satisfied with my work as i have developed it more further by layering my canvases together and attaching the paintings together with the draw pins hammered into them. However one thing that i could improve about my work is to play around with the compositions more and angling them to make it look more abstract. I used my painting techniques using various painting brush strokes to make it look abstract and conceptual but adding some points of realism.

I am very excited about my work as this could lead into something bigger and not just in a painting. this could be a mixture of sculpture and also textiles work too and could possible made into something for theater design set work. i could see my ideas developing by trying out layering with my canvas paintings to see the compositions of how they mix with each other. By the use of colored tape i positioned it in places to almost create a border in the painting.

I used the inspiration of John Stezaker in my work by using painting and collage in my work and using the coloured tape and positioned them all around my painting to create a border like Stezaker does in some of his work.
